El Ungüento de Hipérico es uno de esos remedios que siempre recuerdo haber visto en manos de nuestras abuelas. Era el aceite o el ungüento que aparecía cuando había un golpe, una quemadura, una rozadura o cualquier pequeña molestia en la piel. Un remedio sencillo, elaborado con paciencia y con la confianza que dan las plantas que han acompañado a las familias durante generaciones.

Cada año espero la llegada de San Juan para recolectar el Hipérico en su momento óptimo. Es una planta muy especial para mí, no solo por sus propiedades, sino también por toda la tradición y simbolismo que la rodean. Sus flores amarillas guardan la fuerza del sol del verano y, desde hace siglos, se han utilizado para elaborar aceites y ungüentos destinados a cuidar y reconfortar la piel.

Tras la recolección, las flores maceran lentamente en aceite de oliva virgen ecológico, absorbiendo poco a poco toda la riqueza de la planta. Es un proceso lento, sin prisas, como se ha hecho siempre. Lo que más me fascina es ver cómo, después de cuarenta días de maceración al sol y a la serena, el aceite se transforma en un rojo intenso, como si capturara toda la energía de la planta.

Vivo en una antigua masía de piedra, rodeada de naturaleza, y sé lo importante que es tener a mano remedios sencillos para el día a día. Cuando mi hija empezó a caminar, las caídas eran constantes y los chichones parecían formar parte de cada aventura. Fue entonces cuando una abuela muy querida me habló de este remedio tradicional. Lo preparé por primera vez siguiendo sus indicaciones y desde entonces lo elaboro cada año.

Por eso este ungüento nunca falta en mi botiquín natural. Es mucho más que una fórmula herbal; es un pequeño legado de sabiduría popular que me recuerda la importancia de escuchar a las plantas y aprender de quienes nos precedieron.

Lo elaboro con la misma intención con la que se hacía antiguamente: cuidar, aliviar y acompañar a la piel cuando más lo necesita.
